Park Jaime Duque
This park is natural reserve with a zoo where playful learning is encouraged. This is a plan to spend the whole day, where you can learn about Colombia’s history, culture, myths and much more.

12 km, approximately 20 minutes from the historic center of Zipaquirá, is Parque Jaime Duque, a nature reserve that offers its visitors a different cultural and recreational experience, where playful learning in social and biological sciences is encouraged through its museums, monuments and its incredible Biopark. For visitors, it is recommended to wear comfortable clothing due to the long journeys that must be made.
Alpine hut

In the nearby municipality of Sopo (which in the Muisca language means stone or strong hill) 24 km, approximately 29 minutes from the historic center of Zipaquirá, is the Cabaña Alpina, a recognized place in the savannah that offers a country and family atmosphere to enjoy desserts and products of the Alpina brand.
Sport and fritanga in Cogua
This neighboring municipality is one of the favorite places for Zipaquireños to have physical activity, also to enjoy the peasant market as well as to have one of the best dishes in the region “Fritanga”.

5 km from Our Colonial house is the municipality of Cogua (which in the Muisca language means support of the hill), a favorite place for the inhabitants of Zipaquirá for Sunday to take a new breath of daily activities and perform physical activity through the Cycle track and enjoy the peasant market that from 7 in the morning offers the best organic products from the different home gardens of the region. But in addition to this we also find a place of gastronomic tradition where you can enjoy the best fritanga in the region or as it is commonly called a "picada", a gastronomic proposal where pork is the base of the dish that is made up of black pudding, longaniza, pork rib, creole potatoes, pork rinds and roasted plantain.
El Pionono Ecological Reserve
This park is a valuable forest reserve with 60 hectares of park and more than 680 hectares for the natural reserve. From the top you’ll have an outstanding view of Bogota’s savannah. It’s the perfect place for ecotourism and meditation.

Located in the nearby municipality of Sopó (which in the Muisca language means stone or strong hill), this Park is a valuable forest reserve with 60 hectares of parkland and 680 hectares of nature reserve. It presents heights that range from 2,800 meters. Up to its maximum peak of 3,250 called Cerro de las Águilas. From there you have a spectacular view of Sopo and its valley, as well as part of the surrounding municipalities and the Bogotá savannah.
- It is a perfect place for ecotourism, finding a natural space conducive to rest, meditation and distraction with the beautiful landscape. - On the way to the park is "El Paraíso" a place where it is possible to paraglide and get a beautiful view.
- For visitors it is recommended to wear comfortable clothes, be warm, with nutritious and energetic food, adequate footwear for walking, drink to hydrate.
Nemocón Salt Mine
A very attractive place that keeps on standing the salt culture out in the region. Located at 262Ft underground, visitors will find a mile-long tunnel with rock carved besides than more than 28 brine mirrors.

At 14 km, approximately 25 minutes from our house, in the nearby municipality of Nemocón (in the Muisca language it means Lament or warrior's roar), there is an attraction that continues to highlight the influence of salt in the region; 80 m underground, tourists go through 1,600 m of tunnels accompanied by carvings in stone and salt crystal, in addition to 28 brine mirrors that make this place a magnificent attraction to visit.
Neusa Forest Dam Park
3.700 hectares of Andean forest and a reservoir of 900 hectares, make of this place the perfect place to take a walk in its eco trails, do boat tours, camping, fishing, cycling among others.

One hour north of our Zipaquirá, in the municipality of Cogua (which in the Muisca language means support of the hill), is this natural paradise with an extension of 3,700 hectares of Andean forest with pine, eucalyptus and native forest plantations, and a 900-hectare reservoir with native fish species such as the rainbow trout, the captain of the savannah and the guapucha. Taking walks along ecological trails, taking boat trips through the reservoir and camping are part of the options that tourists have, in addition to practicing sport fishing, water sports and mountain biking.
Guatavita Lagoon
In the religious Muisca capital you’ll find the ultimate temple: the sacred Guatavita lake. This is the place where “El dorado” legend started.

Approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes from our colonial mansion, located in the municipality of Guatavita (which in the Muisca language means end of farming), the religious capital of the Muiscas, is the maximum temple of their veneration: the sacred lagoon of Guatavita, whose rituals gave rise to the legend of El Dorado, the one that made the Spanish conquerors arrive in our territory in the 16th century.
