As its name indicates, it is the ideal place to try the delicious almojábanas, but also its mixtures, desserts and drinks, ideal for spending a quiet afternoon enjoying the view of the Parque de la Esperanza.

 

2. Zipaquirá Dairy Calle 4 #31 – 55
Since 1995 this place has delighted Zipaquireños and tourists with its delicious desserts, you can find the best curds and pandeyucas here, you cannot leave without going through its iconic and traditional desserts from the city.

 

3. The usual Elevens Race 12 #6-32
This place and the family that works here have marked the history of Zipaquirá and its people with their delicious desserts that, since 1850, have witnessed the transformation of Zipaquirá despite the fact that its sweet tradition has endured over time. 4. Where "Las Algarra" carrera 7 with calle 6
This is a historical point for the zipaquirereños who always stopped to have their snack or "half nines" in the morning and in the afternoon, the place known as "Donde Las Algarra" attended by the Algarra sisters, is already part of the tradition gastronomy of the city of salt and after decades it is still a place to enjoy delicious masatos, mantecadas, almojábanas, breads and mixtures that preserve the flavor of Zipaquirá in one bite.

MUSEUMS IN ZIPAQUIRA


Going around Zipaquirá is opening up to the history and culture that the City of Salt houses, not only in its streets and colonial buildings, but also in its museums:

1. Archaeological Museum: You will find an exhibition of more than a thousand archaeological pieces from fourteen pre-Hispanic cultures, its hours are from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. and it is located a few blocks from our hotel: Calle 1 #6-21, Zipaquirá.

2. Guillermo Quevedo Zornoza House Museum: This colonial house from the XXVII century remains intact with its 12 bedrooms, 2 internal patios and a room from the time, and it is arranged for visitors to take a trip to the past through belongings and memories of the Quevedo Family, a very important and culturally influential in Zipaquirá. The poet Roberto Mac-Douall was born in this house, and it has a love fountain, where you can close a padlock with your partner, symbolizing love through time. It is located at Calle 13 #7-69 and opens from Monday to Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.


3. Museum of the brine: If you are interested in learning about the salt exploitation process that was previously used, the history of the construction of the Salt Cathedral and the different methods of salt extraction, we recommend you visit this museum, it is located in the Parque de la Sal and you can access it with your ticket to the Salt Cathedral.

4. Casa del Nobel Gabriel García Márquez Cultural Center: This cultural center, which currently receives residents of Zipaquireños from artistic training schools, was once the school where Gabo studied and spent his youth developing his love for letters. You will be able to tour the living rooms, the kitchen and the bedrooms, many remain intact so that visitors can relive Gabo's school years, and if you are lucky, you may come across an artistic essay from the schools that practice there.

RELIGIOUS TOURIM IN ZIPAQUIRA

1. Salt Cathedral: You cannot leave Zipaquirá without visiting the First Wonder of Colombia and one of the most visited religious monuments in the world.
2. Major Seminary: It is located in the Julio Caro neighborhood, it was created in 1953 and to date it remains open with its religious mission.
3. Nuestra Señora de los Dolores Church: It is above the Plaza de la Independencia and a few kilometers from our hotel, it was inaugurated in 1927 and has a colonial-style architecture that you will be able to appreciate, as well as the incredible view of Zipaquirá that it offers in your gazebo.
4. Diocesan Cathedral: Inaugurated in 1804 and its architecture will leave you fascinated from the first moment, it is located in the Plaza de los Comuneros.
5. Chapel of the Tabernacle: It has been called the "Chapel of Peace", five generations of Zipaquireños were Christianized there and the Blessed Sacrament is honored.

1. Brasa y Salmuera, located at Carrera 8 No. 1 - 208 Sur, is an excellent option if you want to eat meat of the best quality and with a seasoning with more than 20 years of experience.

2. Pescadería Cabo Azul is the place where Caribbean flavors take center stage, its specialty is fresh and seasoned seafood, it is located at Carrera 9#1-43.

3. La Triada is an elegant, innovative option with delicious dishes that highlight the gastronomy of the City of Salt with a unique style. It also works as an events center, it is located in Calle 1 No 9-79.

CHRISTMAS LIGHTING IN ZIPAQUIRÁ

 

The City of Salt has been dressed in lights and magic this Christmas season. Here we tell you the key points for your Christmas lighting tour of Zipaquirá:

 

1.  Salt Park: Live the salt magic, the main tourist attraction of Zipaquirá lit with 500,000 low-consumption and environmentally friendly LED bulbs. To visit the Christmas lighting of the Parque de la Sal you can do it from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
2.  Communards Square: Find the emblematic Christmas tree of Zipaquirá decorated with beautiful stars in the main park, in front of the government buildings.
3.  The Communards Neighborhoods: These two neighborhoods are highly visited in this December season for their great Christmas decorations with environmental responsibility in their central parks. We recommend you visit them and take as many photos as you can.
4.  CC The Casona: The Zipaquirá shopping center is decorated with balloons, arches and a revolving nativity scene, it has several Christmas scenes to interact and take pictures. You can visit it from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. In addition, they will have the Christmas bonuses every day with choirs, fritters and live music.
